The Bible speaks of the Early Church in Acts 16:5 and says that they were "established in the faith." Paul spoke similar words in Romans 1:11, saying, "For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established." For this coming year, God has impressed in our spirit the same for the Pentecostals of Bakersville.

The word established is defined as

  • having been in existence for a long time and therefore recognized and generally accepted:
  • (of a plant) having taken root; growing well:
  • (of a church or religion) recognized

But before one can be established, they must first establish, which is defined as

  • to set up or to found something:
  • to show that something is true or certain:
  • to start having contact with.

My desire is that the Pentecostals of Bakersville be Established in 2026. But for this to happen, I need us (and we are included) to be willing to Establish some things. There are six things God has drawn me to, and I present them here. I am asking each person who considers themselves a member of POB to commit themselves to prayer for the next 21 days (from now until Sunday, February 1). There are six prayer points and if you give yourself to just four minutes each and spend just a minute on praise and thanksgiving before you begin and again when you end, you will have given 26 minutes of your time. These are six things that I am asking POB to focus on in prayer.

  • Establish in me a heart of submission.
  • Establish in me a desire for truth.
  • Establish in me a spirit of conviction.
  • Establish in me a spirit of giving.
  • Establish in me a spirit of praise and worship.
  • Establish in me a spirit of witness.

Below is a link to a commitment card you can print and use it during your daily devotion.

May God Bless you as you commit yourself to become Established in 2026.
