We believe there is only one God, infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (creation), as the Son (salvation), and as the Holy Ghost (impartation).
- “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord” [Deuteronomy 6:4]
- “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” [Ephesians 4:6]
We believe the Bible to be inspired of God and is the infallible Word of God. The Bible is the only God-given authority which man possesses; therefore, all doctrine, faith, hope, and all instruction for the church must be based upon, and harmonize with, the Bible.
- “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” [John 1:1]
- “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” [2 Timothy 3:16]
We believe that you must repent of your sins. Repentance is not an apology or simply saying, “sorry”, but it is a heartfelt choice to lay down the actions of the “old man” and turn away from our sinful desires to walk in newness of life.
- “God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” [II Peter 3:9]
- “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” [Luke 24:47]
We believe in water baptism, by immersion, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. [Acts 2:38]
- “They were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” [Acts 8:16]
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is a separate and distinct event from baptism in water. You must be born again of the water AND the Spirit.
- “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” [John 3:5]
- “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” [Acts 2:4]
- “And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.” [Acts 10”45-46]
Godly living must characterize the life of every child of God, and we must live according to the pattern and example given in the Word of God. Issues of holiness are not salvation issues in and of themselves; rather, they are issues of Christian maturity or sanctification. However, if we choose not to obey God in the area of holiness, our willful disobedience will eventually become a salvation issue.
- “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” [Titus 2:11-12]
- “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” [Hebrews 12:14]
- “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” [1 Corinthians 3:16-17]
- “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” [2 Corinthians 7:1]
